How to hire from JC Plant and Tool Hire Ltd

To order equipment for hire just call us on 07908 430890 to discuss your requirements.

 

To place your order we will require the full name, address and contact telephone number belonging to the person responsible for the hire (hirer). Delivery or Collection will then be arranged. Upon delivery or collection of the equipment the hirer will need to provide two forms of ID including driving licence or passport together with a recent household utility bill (dated no longer than 3 month ago) . We may keep a copy of your passport/ driving licence on file for the duration of the hire contract.

No suitable ID provided, No Hire!

A signature accepting the hire terms and conditions is also required from the hirer.

Payment is then required via bank transfer before Equipment is released.

Terms and Conditions

1. Definitions 

  • Owner: The business providing the tools for hire. 

  • Hirer: The person or business hiring the tools. 

  • Equipment: The tools or machinery being Hired. 

 

2. Hire Period 

The hire period begins when the Hirer receives the Equipment and ends when it is returned to the Owner on the agreed date and time.  

 

3. Hire Charges & Payment 

  • Charges are as agreed.  

  • Payment is due in full before collection/delivery unless otherwise agreed in writing. 

  • Late returns will incur additional daily hire charges. 

 

4. Delivery & Collection 

  • The Hirer is responsible for collection and return unless delivery is arranged. 

  • Delivery costs are payable by the Hirer. 

 

5. Use of Equipment 

  • Equipment must be used only for its intended purpose and in accordance with manufacturers' safety instructions. The Hirer is responsible for the safe and competent operating of equipment and correct use of PPE. 

  • The Hirer must not modify, repair, or alter the Equipment without written consent. 

  • Costs for equipment repairs due to misuse will be charged to the Hirer. 

 

6. Responsibility & Risk 

  • The Hirer is responsible for the Equipment from the time of collection/delivery until the equipment is returned to the Owner. 

  • The Hirer acknowledges that the Equipment remains at all times the property of JC Plant and Tool Hire Ltd. The Hirer has no right, title or interest in the Equipment except that it is hired to the Hirer in accordance to the agreed terms and conditions. 

  • The Hirer must return all equipment in the same condition as received ready for re-hire, any cleaning costs will be charged to the Hirer upon return.  

  • Where the Equipment is supplied with fuel, the Hirer shall return the Equipment with the same or greater amount of fuel to avoid refueling charges.  

  • If the Hired Equipment requires fuel/ oil and/or electricity, the Hirer must ensure the correct fuel, oil and/or voltage is used to not cause damage to the Equipment.  

  • Loss, theft, or damage (other than fair wear and tear) will be charged to the Hirer. The Hirer must ensure Equipment is kept secure at all times.  

 

7. Maintenance & Breakdown 

  • The Owner will maintain the Equipment in safe working order prior to hire. 

  • The Hirer must notify the Owner immediately of any fault or breakdown. 

 

8. Liability 

The Owner is not liable for any accident, damages or losses to any persons or property arising from the use or inability to use the Equipment.  

 

9. Termination 

The Owner may terminate the hire and recover the Equipment if the Hirer breaches these terms. 

 

10. Insurance 

The Hirer is responsible for Purchasing Insurance to cover the Equipment against loss, theft or damage during the hire period. Proof of Hired in plant insurance may be required before release of Equipment. If uninsured, the Hirer accepts full financial liability for the replacement cost of the hired Equipment and must reimburse the owner. Loss of Hire Charges may also be applied.
